The [Youth] Athlete Project
Preserving Childhood Through Sport
The Youth Athlete Project is a portrait and storytelling project celebrating the young athletes in our community.
Through portraits and conversations, this project aims to document what it means to grow up in sports—the friendships, routines, challenges, victories, disappointments, lessons, and memories that become part of childhood.
Too often, youth sports are measured by scores, standings, and trophies. This project focuses on something different:
The experience of being a kid who plays.
Athletes from all sports, teams, clubs, and organizations are welcome.
What's Included
Participation Fee: $100
Each athlete receives:
• A 15 minute portrait session
• A short interview about their experience as an athlete
• One edited digital image
• Inclusion in The Youth Athlete Project book
• The opportunity to purchase additional images if desired
About the Book
The Youth Athlete Project will become a community book featuring portraits and stories from local athletes.
The goal is to create something families can look back on years from now—not just to remember how their child looked, but who they were during this chapter of their life.
The finished book will be available for purchase separately once completed.
Supporting Youth Sports
A portion of proceeds from The Youth Athlete Project helps support the launch and development of Supernova FC, creating additional opportunities for young athletes in our community.
Who Can Participate?
Athletes of any sport are welcome.
Soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, football, wrestling, dance, gymnastics, cheer, martial arts, hockey, swimming, track and field, and more.
You do not need to be affiliated with Supernova FC to participate.
